On Sunday, Jamie made his first trip to, well, anywhere. He went to Cookeville to surprise his grandmothers for Mother's Day. (Jamie forgot to get his own momma something, but I suppose I can only expect so much from a 2 month old.) He had a great visit, even if he did stay up all night.
The last two days have been great. On Monday, Jamie woke up with no signs of thrush whatsoever. He then made his first trip to a restaurant: Cracker Barrel, where he slept while we enjoyed lunch, courtesy of my mom. After we came back to Knoxville, things continued to go well (except for the giant stack of hospital bills that arrived--yikes!). In the evening, we decided to pull our mattress out into the living room so that we could all sleep together for once. With Jamie in the Moses basket on the floor beside us, we were cozy and happy. Jamie must have really enjoyed it, because he slept peacefully through the night--six and a half straight hours. Jay appreciated a break from sleeping on the couch, and he certainly liked the full night's rest; I would have liked it more if I hadn't awoken every half hour to check on Jamie.
To top things off, this morning Jamie had a perfectly normal bowel movement--no apple juice or suppositories. (Boy, he's really going to love the intimate details of this blog when he's fourteen, isn't he?) His thrush is creeping back, but perfection is too much to ask for, I suppose.
